Duren Jatohan Haji Arif at Baros Serang

At Saturday  13 June 2009 morning, on the way to Baduy Dalam, we drop for a break at Duren Jatohan Haji Arief at Baros. This was  the place to eat durian. The durians that was sold here was believe to be mature at the trees and naturally fell down to the ground, then people collected them from the ground. So, you can imagine that the durian is very mature. It smells strong and when we eat it, it tastes the alcohol very strong. It is very nice but it can escalate your blood pressure. If you are not in good health, it will be dangerous to eat them, but this place is very wellknown for its durian. The smallest durian cost us Rp 50,000, the large one can cost up to Rp 100,000 per ball of durian. The durian is ussually served with javanese coffee. You can imagine the strong kick to your blood pressure, but many people like it very much.

I and my family tried two balls of durian for my family. I only took two seeds of the durian. The taste was really strong.

Baros was located just outside of Pandeglang city in the direction to Rangkas Bitung. Our route to Baduy was Jakarta to Serang via toll road, Pandeglang, Rangkasbitung and Ciboleger. Ciboleger was the last place we could drive to, after that we would have to go by walk to Baduy Dalam or Inner Baduy.
